Tristan took a look around. Apparently, some kid vanished during a trip to the well. This well, if the young adventurer understood correctly, was located somewhere in the forest. While this made no sense, given how the forest was obviously bound to be dangerous... Tristan would have been surprised if the kid hadn't gotten lost.
Still, there was money involved... And Tristan was a sucker for helping lost kids get back home. So, anticipating an attack by any sort of forest prowler, the adventurer delved into the woods. He just hoped little Timmy didn't fall down the well. There was a serious lack of rope on Tristan's person.

Tristan wandered on through the forest when an odd sound came from behind him. He turned to see a sheep approaching. Dumbstruck, the human stared at the sheep, who had decided to eat some leaves off a nearby shrub. With a shake of his head, Tristan continued walking.
It didn't take long for Tristan to realize that the sheep was following him. With a sigh, the boy looked into the eyes of the sheep. "I don't suppose you know where that friggin' well is, do you?" He looked around. "What am I saying? I'm asking a sheep where a well is."

Tristan looked up from the bottom of the well. Of course the sheep knocked him in. He was stupid enough to follow it, even if it did eventually lead him to the well. The adventurer sighed. How am I supposed to save the kid now? he thought to himself. Of course, he could be in the well behind me...
Tristan turned around and was aghast at what he saw. The child, while still alive, was sickly pale and extremely skinny. He obviously needed to get home as soon as possible so as to recover his health. Turning back towards the entrance of the well, Tristan considered once more as of how they could get out.
He was oblivious as to what was occurring behind him.

Tristan opened his eyes to see not the light of the sun but a certain sheep's face against a cavern backdrop. The fuck...? What... Where'd the well go? Tristan then jumped up and shoved the sheep off of him. "Where's the kid?" he asked while not really caring for an answer. Last time he actually thought the sheep could be useful he fell down the well and the sheep followed.
Still, after grabbing the kid, Tristan turned and saw the cavern opening. He pet the sheep as well as he could as he looked at the cave, then looked the the sheep. "After you, my friend. You're the reason we're in this mess, you're gonna lead us out."

The Sheep begins to walk through the small tunnel for a while, having the other two follow closely behind it. The tunnel was long, small, and hot, making Tristan hot and bothered. The tunnel eventually had a bit of light after an hour worth of walking. The sheep slowly walked towards the light as the other two followed.

Tristan looked at the sheep. Having led its two companions to the exit of the caves, said sheep had done a good job. Tristan grinned as he looked up at the sky. It was a wonderful day, and seeing the sky would do the missing kid some good. Which reminded the adventurer...
"We need to get this kid back home. His dad is probably worried sick that I've not brought him back yet." Tristan picked the kid up and started running to the edge of the woods before turning around and looking at the sheep. "You're coming, aren't you? Come on, now, keep up."
The adventurer started walking back towards town again before saying aloud, "Besides, I can't leave you here. You'd be eaten, even if you do sport a mean kick."

Bahhhhhhhh!
The Sheep followed Tristan and the boy back to town. It only took roughly two hours before they reached the town. The boy ragged and withered returned to his dad in tears. The father rewarded Tristan for bringing his boy back but made a comment that threw Tristan off.
"That's not the sheep that went with the boy. Where'd you find that one?"

Tristan finally got the kid home. He accepted his payment with gratitude before preparing to leave. He started to walk out the door when the farmer told him something quite interesting. Apparently, the sheep wasn't the one owned by the farmer and his son. The adventurer thought about this for a moment before thanking the farmer again and leaving. The sheep followed.
Tristan, once a distance from the house, turned to the sheep. "I guess you have nowhere to go, huh?" he asked. "Well, after your help, I can't leave you to fend for yourself. I suppose you're stuck with me now." He started to smile at the sheep before turning away. He was off in search of another quest.
Perhaps something that would earn him a reputation to go with the cash reward this time.
